Rebecca Black Disables Comments

So the best part about Rebecca Black's "Friday" was the user comments.

I give her credit for creating a viral video that pretty much topped most other viral sensations in recent years, however the song sucked.

What seat should I take on the bus? screw it, i'm riding in a convertible, with my seatbelt off....with awkward girls that I may have never seen in my life..

The comments on the other hand, well they provided some quality entertainment. Not only were a lot of the comments hilarious, but in the time it took you to write out yours, there were 10 new ones waiting for you to read.

Call me crazy, but those comments were driving views to her already popular video. Disabling them means that now when people are bored out of their minds after 20 seconds they will just leave, rather than read what everyone else wrote.

YouTube marketing 101, engage your viewers.

NFL Draft, who cares...

So I'm sitting in the bar last evening watching the NFL draft. The first thing that comes to mind is how the heck are all 8 TV's showing the NFL draft? I mean there's gotta be a chance that someone else in the bar besides my buddy and I who wants to actually watch something.

Seeing the players get picked in real time doesn't change anything, you can still look it up tomorrow in about 5 minutes. So what's the big excitement in seeing that crap live?

As I'm sitting there barely watching I can't help but hope that most of these guys don't get picked. You see, they went to college to play football, not to get a degree. Most of these guys are good enough to make it in the NFL, and good for them. But if they don't get picked they are hardly qualified to do anything other than good ole Mickey D's.

How awesome would it be if these guys got a serving of real life? Because that's what will happen eventually anyhow, maybe not now, but 10 or 12 years from now they will "retire", and then what? You think they'll be loaded from playing in the NFL? Well see no one ever taught them any financial responsibility either, and when push comes to shove a lot of these guys will need real jobs. When that happens they might regret squandering that college education.

But hey, who wants to get smart anyhow?

Aren't you?

I am not going to tell you how much I hate winter or am sick of snow. I don't and I'm not.
I'm just a fan of all things summer...especially being outside all day.
This summer is shaping up to be a pretty awesome one too! At least 2 trips out west, with one involving a week long fish sampling trip in a national park and 120 mile white water raft trip out of the park.
I want to see some cool wildlife this year, new stuff. Hopefully stuff that is dangerous to be around.
Wrestling a gator would be cool.
Swimming with sharks would be kinda sweet.
Punching a grizzly in the face would be the best.

I often get asked why it is better to be a youtube partner.
They want to know why they should be working hard to get the partnership.
This is a valid question since it seems as though there are many grey areas that are poorly understood, and as an aspiring youtube partner I'd want to know if it was worth it or not..

I am a Youtube Partner. That probably doesn't need to be capitalized.

Its nice to get the extra benefits of being a partner like the channel customization and branding. I like those things.

I get a lot of questions about my partnership. How did you do it? What is it like? How much do you make?

I can't really answer a lot of those as exactly as you might like because of what I've agreed to but I can give you a lot of good advice nevertheless.
